There are many wonderful places to stay and dine and things to do in the Colorado Springs Metro area. This website intends to be the first place you go to when you are looking for the best of what the Colorado Springs area has to offer.

The two of us and the dogs would drive to CO with the tent and supplies hopefully getting there before sundown and setup camp. The Trinidad Lake State Park has nice facilities. If we got there with enough time we would stop by the local Lumber Mill in town to pick up fire wood, great prices and friendly people. The next morning we would start our campfire and cook up some bacon and egg breakfast burritos and coffee. After clean up we would take the dogs on a hike down to the lake and let them play around. By the time they are fully exhausted it would probably be time to head back to camp for lunch. Lunch would probably be either cold sandwiches or hot sausage on hogies. We might spend the afternoon just reading at camp or we might even take a nap. Eventually we would start the fire back up to cook dinner, which of course would be cornbread and chili.
